Our dedicated behaviour support team is made up of practitioners from a range of relevant backgrounds with many years experience delivering support that is practical and based on current best-practice. AJH provides ongoing supervision and regular support to behaviour support practitioners in addition to outsourcing training and supporting and encouraging staff to build on their existing experience and/or qualifications. The team works flexibly and creatively with participants and their formal and informal support networks. We strive to deliver timely, relevant and cost-effective support that meets the holistic needs of each participant.
Based on the idea that all behaviour serves a purpose with difficult behaviour being reduced by knowing what someone is trying to acheive or communicate. A behaviour support plan's focus is at making challenging behaviour unnecessary by removing certain triggers and things that encourage or reward these behaviours. The focus will also be to teach alternative and more appropriate behaviour in place of the challenging behaviour. This will lead to more effective ways to communicate which will result in improved relationships, community participation and a higher feeling of independence within your own life.
